In 1999 Mitsuoka Motor announced its first Electric Vehicle, the MC-1T EV. This model was a single-seater minicar designed to provide minimal electric mobility with an emphasis on environmental friendliness, and was suitable for short-distance use such as delivery services. At this point, Mitsuoka Motor entered the electric vehicle market and began its efforts towards a sustainable society.

In 2002, the company released the “CONVOY 88” (commonly known in Japan as “Convoy Papa”), a car designed to resemble an American large truck. It attracted attention for its unique size, the world’s smallest Car in width at just 88cm. It was also made into a Tomica model (diecast car) of the actual vehicle.

During 2010, the company released the “Like” electric vehicle, which can accommodate five passengers and is designed specifically for sightseeing and business use. This model is characterized by its compact yet distinctive styling, and was primarily sold to corporate customers.

Challenging towards the New Markets

In 2011, we developed the “Like-T3,” a three-wheeled electric vehicle with a seating capacity of two and a maximum load capacity of 100 kg, challenging a new market. Designed to meet a variety of business needs, the “Like-T3” has been certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, ensuring high levels of safety and stability.

The challenge of a sustainable mobility society continues to underpin our manufacturing.
